Or Hadash's two teams, "The Matzo Bailers" and "The Chai Rollers" competed in a kickball league with seven other teams from around Orlando. "The kickball experi- ence has been incredible for Or Hadash," said Amy Schwartz, the president of Or Hadash. "For half of the players, this was their first and only connection to the Jewish community." Jeff Halbert, 27, signed up to play for the Chai Rollers. "I've been want- ing'to get involved with the Jewish community, and this seemed like the perfect way to do so," said Halbert, who previously played baseball at Rollins College. "Kickball with Or Hadash really exceeded my expectations. I've made great connections with people who are now great friends." The next kickball season with the Orlando Sport & Social Club begins at the end of January and takes place on Monday nights in the John Young area. The Or Hadash teams are open to those 40 and under, with and without prior athletic experience.
