HERITAGE FLORIDA JEWISH NEWS, DECEMBER 4, 2009 JFS' Southwest Orlando office open to those in need A harsh reality is that it can be impossible for those on low incomes to provide adequate food and shelter for themselves and their loved ones. Jewish Family Services has been answering the call for help throughits Emergency Services program for more than 30 years. When a family is threatened with eviction be- cause their rent is behind, JFS provides financial assistance. When a father has nothing left in his paycheck for groceries. JFS opens its pantry doors. When Morn cannot get the electricity turned back on because she is three months in arrears. JFS attempts to pay the bill. These are some of the types of emergency support offered to families on the brink of despair. JFS has expanded its reach and is now providing support to people in Orange and Osceola counties through its newly opened location at 11184 S. Apopka-Vineland Road.
