HERITAGE FLORIDA JEWISH NEWS, NOVEMBER 11, 2011 Pizza in the hut Jeremy Halpren, Naomi Stricker, Kaitlyn Dixon, Lindsay Silberstein, Emilee Dreifus, Melissa Stn'cker and Camryn Dixon in the Giant Bubble Foam Party. Karin Barth with her son, Kai, shaking the lulav. Rabbi Yanky Majesky of Chabad Lubavitch of North Or- lando shakes a lulav with Naomi Stricker. Schmoozing In the background are Daniel Levy, Greg Anderson and Glen Weiner. "Nearly 100 guests flocked to Rabbi Yanky Majesky's home in Lake Mary for Chabad Lubavitch of North Orlando's 2nd annual Suk- kot party. Thanks to an anonymous local donor, lots of food was served in the sukkah. "My favorite was the authentic New York pizza," said Joy Stricker. Majesky made sure that each guest was able to shake the lulav and etrog and say the appropriate blessings with them. Lively Israeli music jammed in the back- ground to add to the festivi- ties. Guests were even able to watch a movie by the pool once the sun started to set. "One of the most central themes of Sukkot is Jewish unity," Majesky said. "The lulav and etrog, the four kinds, symbolize four types of Jews, with differing levels of Torah knowledge and observance. Bringing them Riley Dixon is flanked by the Stricker sisters, Naomi on the left and Melissa on the right. together represents our unity as a nation--despite our external differences." "Chabad's Sukkot party was a huge hit with the kids," Stricker said. The children got to decorate their very own stuffed Torahs. They were able to ride in a giant "hamster ball." They were even able to play a game called "Booger Wars." "The favorite attraction for the evening had to be the bubble foam party," said a room who attended. "That's what Chabad is all about: good clean fun for the kids." ' If you would like to find out more about Chabad in Lake Mary (serving all Jews regardless of affiliation in Sanford, Heathrow, Lake Mary and Longwood), you can check out its website at www.jewishnorthorlando. corn, or you can email Majesky directly at rabbi@ jewishnorthorlando.com.
