NANCY ARENAS writes about her visits in Orlando Un- leashed: "A hospital is not the happiest place in the world, but twice a month smiles can be seen everywhere you look. Moods seem to lighten, even with the+ nurses, technicians and doctors. While we are there, family and friends get some relief from the lov- ing, wagging tails that seem to make the children forget about their troubles and pains. The children anxiously await this day wanting to make sure they meet every dog that has come to visit. The dogs are a big hit, and the kids love them! The dogs seem to sense that these children need comfort, and they are ever so gentle and patient with them. It's a win/win situation. The children feel better, the dogs get a lot of attention, and the parents enjoy their child's happiness." Just one click per day would be wonderful! (Bookmark the site and go to it often. It is free to you.) Thanks on behalf of the loving animals. The late Will Rogers said, "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went." And Ann Landers said, "Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful." Ben Williams said, "There is psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face." Andy Rooney said, "The average dog is a nicer person than the average person. - Joe Weinstein said, "My dog is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to $3 a can. That's almost $21 in dog money." An inspiring read What could be as uplifting as writing about animals? That's easy a book titled Probes, Poetry, andStories writ- ten by RITA FLEISCHER. Rita tells about her own story She writes: "I was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y where I married and had two sons. At the end of October, 1975, I moved to Florida with my family. A year and a half later, my life took a dramatic turn. I divorced and started a single life with my two sons. My sons are now married, and have families of their own. I have two beautiful grand- children." Rita goes on to tell how, af- ter a few years, a spiritual door opened for her and she started searching and studying to find out who she was and why she was on this earth. She started to write down in her book's Introduction. RITA FLEISCHER her thoughts and put them away. Recently she gathered them and turned them into a book that is inspirational to all calming and uplifting. For instance, on page 106 is a poem titled "Life Has A Funny Way." Here are just a few lines: "Life has a funny way of showing us little things. From past times forward on We live it at a moment of time Those little things mean a lot Forever in my heart/ That spark of love The twinge of the eye To see the rainbow in the sky As you gaze upon the clouds of white and blue" This is just the beginning of a peaceful poem an inspiring read. The poem continues. If you would like to read it in its entirety or if you would like to find out more about this charming little book, you can contact Rita via email at And one more for the road NO SENSE OF HUMOR? SKIP IT! "Divorce Negotiations" A married couple is driving along a highway doing a steady 40 miles per hour. The wife is behind the wheel. Her husband suddenly looks across at her and speaks in a clear voice, "I know we've been married for 20 years but I want a divorce." The wife says nothing, keeps looking at the road ahead, but slowly increases her speed to 45 mph. The husband speaks again. "I don't want you to try and talk me Out of it," he says, "because I'm in love with your best friend and she is much more desirable to me than you are."
