Bringing Sukkot into tile class00'e om (literally) Ayla William enjoys her turn at lunch in the sukkah. Some very creative teach- ers have brought the Jewish holiday of Sukkot into their Room 4 at the Roth Jewish Community Center's Rich- ard S. Adler Early Child- hood Learning Center. The class, taught by Mickey Hibbard and Stefani Ra- bideaux, takes turns eating and sleeping in the indoor sukkah. Traditionally built outside, the sukkah is a temporary hut built dur- ing the weeklong Sukkot festival to symbolize the temporary shelter the Jew- ish people lived in while wandering in the desert for 40 years. The celebration of Sukkot is just one element of the JCC's rich Judaic curriculum. To learn more about the Roth JCC's early childhood programs, call 407-645- 0923 or visit www. orlandojcc.org.
