HERITAGE FLORIDA JEWISH NEWS, AUGUST 12, 2011 PAGE 9A Most important... This information comes to us from HERBERTJULI, executive director of the World Jewish Congress Foundation (WJC) and DAN DIKER, secretary general of the World Jewish Congress: "Come September, the Palestinian leadership is hoping to convince the United Nations to endorse a Palestinian state, sidestepping direct and legally sanctioned negotiations with Israel in gross violation of all signed agreements. This reck- less and dangerous maneuver will not advance the cause of peace. It's critical to understand the 'bait and switch' at play. Palestinians have appropriated what they label a new strategy of 'nonviolent demonstrations' against Israel, while leading an international political assault against the very legitimacy of the Jewish state. And the Palestinians are engaging in vi- cious campaigns in elementary and secondary schools, in the media and in mosque sermons that indoctrinate Palestinians and their children to hatred, violence and demonization of Jews and Israelis. "Here ~re examples of how the Palestinian Authority is 'prepping' their next generation: "1. Jihad with blood and willingness to risk life is promoted in modern textbooks. For instance, 'Our Beautiful Language,' 5th grade text; the 'PA Ministry of Education and Islamic Education,' 9th grade text, published in 2010. "2. Heard on Al-Aqsa TV (Hamas): ,Palestinian's blessing is linked to destruction of the center of global corruption (Jews of Israel), the snake's head. When the snake's head of global corruption is cut off, here in Palestine, and when the octopus' (Jews) tentacles are cut off around the world, the real blessing will come with the destruction of the Jews here in Palestine.' "3. This comes from 'World History in the Modern Era,' 10th grade text, published in 2010: 'Zionism is a racist, political, ideological movement which appeared in the second half of the 19th century. Its appearance coincided with the appear- ance of modern European imperialism, as Zionism at its core constitutes an integral part of worldwide imperialism.' "The truth is that Palestinian leaders are winking at their people. How can they prepare for peace if they are espousing lies and hate speech? How can they demand the benefits of sovereignty and independence without the responsibilities that peace-loving nations demand of themselves? Sadly, we know from the 20th century what inciting children to hatred at school, at home and in the media engenders. We, the people of the Book must insist that the Palestinians cease this hypocrisy in order to help secure peace in the 21st century." (I realize this news is quite upsetting, but there is something we can do. Please participate in our Call to Action. Please ex- press your concern to our Ambassador to the United Nations by signing the letter below or penning one of your own and mailing it directly to her. Thank you.): The Honorable Susan Rice U.S. Mission to the U.N. 140 E. 45th St, New York, NY i0017 Dear Ambassador Rice: As a proud Jew I am appalled by the blatant undermining of genuine negotiations for peace by the Palestinians that begins with the indoctrination of children into a culture of hatred. I implore you to use all the tools at your disposal, guided by our quest for peace shared by the State of Israel, to expose and condemn the hypocrisy and lies of the Palestinian Authority and its incitement policies of violence and hatred it continues to propagate beginning in text books and media corrupting the innocence of elementary and secondary school students. Sincerely, (Or use your own words to say the same thing.) Truly dedicated Jewish women... I'm referring to PAT RUBENSTEIN and CORRINE BRAIL.
