This year, the popular Dining Around Town is back and the price of the tickets has been reduced. One lucky person will have the opportunity to win a $100 gift certificate at each of the following 13 restaurants; Bahama Breeze, Brio Tus- can Grille. Cheesecake Fac- tory, Emeril's. Fleming's , PF Chang's, Portabellas, Roy's, Ruth's Chris. Samba Room. Season's 52, T-REX. and Tim- pano's Italian Chop House. That's apackageworth $1.300. Ticket sales have just begun and are off to a brisk start. Tickets are $25 each or four tickets for $100 and you do not need to be present to win. Savannah Court residents feel connect, E,,,1 to Judaism The Jewish Pavilion keeps Savannah Court residents hopping with weekly happy hours and a weekly course taught by Dr. Zena Sulkes entitled "Jewish Journeys With Zena." The facility of- fers Shabbat-style meals to their residents each week that includes matzah ball soup. Monthly, Jewish Pavilion volunteers provide a lox and bagel Shabbat lunch. Whereas Jewish residents could feel isolated as a minority in a long-term care facility, Jewish Pavilion staff and volunteers re-engage the residents and bring the Jewish community to their doorsteps. COS holds teacner Shabbat retreat The Congregation Ohev Shalom Religious School held its third teacher Shab- bat retreat July 17-I8 at the Canterbury Retreat Center in Oviedo. COS staff spent Shabbat focusing on creating a Jewish character education program for the school. In ad- dition to working on the new program, staff participated in Chevruta Study, the Torah of Dr. Seuss. team building activities, prayers, meals and creating a stronger bond with each other that greatly filters down to the students. The Shabbat retreat is fully un- derwritten by the Joseph and Frieda Ross Foundation.
