June 27. 1980 Monday 00Morning Sewing/'oi" Sunland Story and Photos by Gloria Yousha In the tradition of the old fashioned sewing circle, members of B'nai B'rith Women gather every Monday morning at the home of Dorothy Cohen, in Orlando, to create stuffed animals, brightly colored hospital gowns, sweaters and booties for the residents of Sunland Hospital. It all started 10 years ago, when the then B'nai B'rith women's president, Fannie Resnick, observed conditions at Sunland and came away determined to make the lives brighter for the residents. Fannie calls these Monday morning get togethers a "love-fest," explaining that "the women enjoy the social hour as they create each item," that Fannie then delivers to the hospital. "Regulars" during the past ten years are Pearl Brown, Norma Friedman, Minnie Guzy, Ruth Feitelson, Helen Muchnik, Dora Solomon, Miriam Roth and of course Dorothy Cohen and Fannie. Donations of cash, cotton/poly- ester material, acrylic yarn and nylon hosiery for stuffing animals is always needed and welcome. And the doors are always open for more ladies to jon in. y SEWING. sewing and more sewing ... LE DELLY NORM'S BACK and WE'VE GOT 'IM I I ] I 1 I-[ - Think bagels with cream cheese and lox. Crepes.
