HERITAGE FLORIDA JEWISH NEWS, MAY 25, 2012 PAGE 7. A Shabbat comes to Savannah Court Hank and Suzanne Lander have been sharing Shabbats with Arthur and Harriet Schott for almost four years. When the Schotts recently moved into Savannah Court in Maitland, the Landers wanted to continue the tradi- tion. The Landers, as well as other volunteers from Con- gregation Bet Chaim, began monthly visits and were warmly welcomed by the Jew- "ish residents. "All of the residents par- ticipated in the service, reading different parts, singing songs and reading many of the prayers along with us as a group," said Suzanne Lander after her initial visit. "One thing I have learned through our visits to the different facili- ties is that the residents' Ju- daism stays with them, even i: ..... Suzanne and Hank Lander (standing in back on right) and volunteers surround their new friends for Shabbat at Savannah Court. if they are no longer able to participate as often as they used to--they still know many of the prayers and the songs and it is wonderful to be able to share this with them." The Landers will be con'- ducting monthly Shabbats at Savannah Court on the second Saturday of every month at 10:30 a.m. For more information on the Jewish Pavilion, call 407- 678-9363.
