There is little doubt that Florida's Jewish population has grown three times faster than the rest of the state's population in the past I0 years, and probably will continue in the future. The Jewish population of the United States continues moving in increasing numbers from the Northeast to the Sun Belt. Today, one out of every twenty Florida residents is Jewish. It now ranks fourth among states with the largest Jewish population, and even as this is written, will probably surpass New Jersey into third place. Only New York and California have more. The largest majority of known Jews is in south Florida, but the population centers are moving northward into Palm Beach County and all across middle Florida from the Atlantic to the Gulf of Mexico. During those same years, the Jewish population has gone from 189,280 to 435,580, a jump of more than 130 percent.
