Jews repair the world by doing mitzvot and gemilut chasadim, acts of loving kind- ness. Kadima, for 6th - 8th- grades, and USY, for 9th - 12th-grade are required to donate a certain amount of money to tikkun olam as well as participate in acts of tikkun olam. The day will begin with USY's fresh glazed Krispy Kreme donut sale at 8:45 a.m. The cost is $5/dozen or $3/ half dozen. Preorders are pre- ferred. They will also hold a raffle for 50 cents a ticket to win a free dozen. At 12:30 after having lunch, doing Birkat hamazon and some singing the USY'ers and Kadimaniks will make Pass- over Judaica items such as seder plates and Elijah's cups to sell at the COS Sisterhood's Miriam's Market on April 6. By Elaine Silver The first joint meeting of Hillel Jewish students and JFGO Community Relations Committee members was held in January at the Student Union on the UCF campus. Dr. Mark Klafter, a member of CRC and one of the partici- pants in the meeting, ex- pressed the goals of the CRC in planning the meeting. "We've gone out to UCF to encourage the Jewish college students in Orlando to feel a part of the greater Jewish com- munity, to build a strong coa- lition between the Jews on campus and those in town, to make community resources available to students, and to campus join resources to bolster a sense of pride in our Jewish heritage." "We hope to have fun while creating opportunities to cel- ebrate our Jewish identities and build support for Israel," added Jason Hoffman, another CRC participant. Student leaders at UCF are planning an Israel teach-in for students from campuses throughout Florida and a walk for Israel.
