FLORIDA JEWISH MARCH 21 2003 PAGE 13 Anthony and Renee Codron, OWners of the FASTSIGNS sign graphic store on Colonial in Orlando, were re- ntly recognized by International, Lhe prestigious "Re- ~lwe Newcomer of the Year" ard. This national honor goes to a FASTSIGNS owner ~ho was most effective in in- creasing the sales of an exist- ing store. The FASTSIGNS store on Colonial initially opened to the Public in October of 1995. As ~anagers for several of the alias FASTSIGNS stores, the Codron's knew they wanted to OWn their own store some day- ~d be their own boss, When lheY heard the Colonial Drive ocation was for sale, they put their house in Dallas on the ~arket, packed their bags and u.nlcially took over the Orlando StoreinAugustof2001. In just ~r ayear, they not only reju- ated their store, staff and market, but they also man- aged to increase their store sales by over 125 percent - an amazing achievement for any FASTSIGNS owner. This award was presented to the Codron's during the FASTS|GNS 15th annual Na- tional Convention in Reno, Nev. The Reno Silver Legacy Hotel and Resort was the offi- cial site of the four-day con- ference. In attendance during the Convention were over 300 FASTSIGNS owners and em- ployees from across the United States, including representa- tives from Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Australia. The annual FASTSIGNS Convention is typically the event of the year within the close-knit franchise system. T his year, franchisees were able to learn the latest technolo- gies associated within the sign and digital graphics industry including wide format print- ing, vehicle graphics, trade show exhibits, e-commerce and more. More importantly, the gathering allowed fellow franchisees to discuss business ideas with one another and provide feedback on important issues facing the sign indus- try. The largest vendor fair in FASTSIGNS history was also a part of the weekend which in- cluded the exhibits of more than 100 vendors who were there to educate franchisees on their products and services. Becoming educated on new sign making technology is key in the digital sign and graph- ics industry. In the year since they've been owners of the Orlando Colonial location, the Codron's have dug deep into their pockets to bring the lat- est equipment into their store. Most recently, they've added full color inkjet printing and laminating, as well as a di- mensional router.
