Altamonte Springs. Bonnie Friedman. professional mu- sician and piano instructor. will be playing Jewish music alongwith her piano students ages 6-13. This intergenerafional con- cert will appeal to people of all ages and will include free food provided by Jewish Pavil- ion volunteers, according to Nancy Ludin. executive direc- tor of the Jewish Pavilion. The entire community iswelcome. Friedman was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.. and moved to Orlando 36 years ago. She earned her master's degree in education and adminis- tration from the University of Central Florida. After di- recting the preschool at the Jewish Community Center of Central Florida for 30 years. Friedman retired to develop "Melody Makers." a business dedicated to introducing music to young Orlandoans. She teaches keyboard, piano, Zipadee Doodles Singers and music enrichment classes to children ages 2 through adults at numerous schools in the community. She also has directed adult and children's theater at the JCC. She produced "Silhou- ettes." a talent and fashion show that was very popular in the community from the late 1970s to the mid '90s. In addition, she has taught music classes to education majors at Seminole Community College and led music workshops for Head Start and private schools. She is married to Marvin Friedman, executive director of the JCC and is the mother of Jonathan and Eric and of course, "Jerry the wonder dog." Fridays are special at Horizon Bay With the help of volunteers, the Jewish Pavilion is able to bring Shabbat services to Jewish long-term care residents in Central Florida. Debbie Meitin, a long-time "Pavilion volunteer who regularly leads Shabbat services at two assisted living facilities served by the Jewish Pavilion, is flanked here by Horizon Bay residents Alice Schnur (1) and Etta Goldstein following a Shabbat service at the Altamonte Springs facility.
