HERITAGE, Fbdda Jewish News, February 15, 1980 Israel Will Not Interfere with U.S. Elections JERUSALEM (JTA)-- Premier Menachem Begin reiterated Thursday that the Israeli government would not interfere in any way with the democratic election process in the United States. Begin made that statement in response to a question after he addressed a foreign press corps luncheon. The questioner referred to Defense Minister Ezer Weizman's recent remarks in favor of President Carter's reelection. Begin did not take issue directly with Weizman. Mornings were made to be spent snuggled under the covers doing nothing more exhausting than dreaming of Robert Redford. (Come to think of it, at my age even dreaming can be exhausting. Never mind.) What mornings are NOT for is being grilled under hot lights at 6 a.m. So for the sake of my own sanity, I'm going to teach the children a new word for those pre-dawn hours. (Anytime before noon qualifies) Dad, D.A.D. Now the word, Dad, is a perfectly good English word Would you say i 9 To our youth? Are we reaching them with the richness of our heritage? Are they being given the opportunity to learn Jewish values and meaning? We cannot give up the future. To our elderly? We are sitting on a time bomb in Central Florida. An explosion of elderly who will need our help. It is our challenge and our privilege to provide our elderly a full range of services. To our families? A soaring divorce rate, single parent families, and the culture shock of new surroundings. These are the challenges our community is being asked to meet. Troubled families who need Jewish answers. To our brothers? Israel. Still a nation of pioneers, of men and women of vision. They must struggle with the most expensive peace in history. With a soaring inflation rate. It is our privilege to help. They pay the price, we accept the challenge. We can say 'YES' to all ... if you give. COMBINED JEWISH APPEAL P.O.
