How a refrigerator light left on over Shabbat led to my losing a roommate. DON'T BOTHER ASKING ME TO... ...Come to your Shabbat dinner if your idea of a fine wine is "the blue bottle." JFS volunteers Jillian Finkelstein (1), Norma Ball, Jeannie Finkelstein and Jola Cope help JFS volunteer coordinator Marni S. Chepenik with Chanukah~Christmas meal delivery to homebound older adults in the Orlando community. Ted Johnston (1), Marni S. Chepenik and Chef George Daponte from the Kinneret Kosher Kitchen, where the hot meals are prepared for homebound older adults. The JFS holiday meal delivery program brings hot meals to older adults that are homebound or disabled, lonely, without family lo- cally or unable to cook for themselves. This past holi- day, 53 meals were delivered for Chanukah/Christmas to older adults within Seminole, Orange and Osceola counties. Recipients also received good- ie bags prepared by Hadassah. Jewish Family Services covers the cost of the meals that are delivered. If you would like to help defray these costs, consider making a donation of $18 or more toward the meal delivery program.
