Jewish Adult Singles (60+) Brunch at JCC (Maitland campus), 10:30 a.m. Program: Yvette Bloom, dental hygienist. Young entertainer to perform Samantha Trattner will be the featured .entertainer at this month's Jewish musi- cal program at Horizon Bay (formerly Merrill Gardens). The program is on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. and is part of the monthly music pro- grams provided by the Jewish Pavilion. The 14-year old entertainer has been singing since she was a tot--in pre-school she was nicknamed "the juke- box." A talented vocalist and performer. Trattner enjoys singing, dancing, acting, sports, playing piano and the guitar. She has appeared fre- quently on stage at the Jewish Community Center. where she has been featured in numerous musical theater productions. This gummer she appeared in "Footloose" at the Orlando Repertory Theater, and she is part of the teen choir at the Congrega- tion of Reform Judaism. A graduate of the Hebrew Day School, Trattner is Currently a freshman at Seminole High School's Academy of Health Careers. where she is an ac- tive member of Pizazz. an all girls competition show choir. She lives in Lake Mary with Singer Samantha Trat- tner, 14, will entertain the residents of Horizon Bay on Jan 18 at I p.m. her parents, Joanne Fink and Andy Trattner, who are both active members of Orlando's Jewish community. Fink, who occasionally works as a cantorial soloist, will be harmonizing with the young entertainer on a few of the numbers. Since 2001. Trattner has studi.ed piano with Eric Levine. who will be ac- companying her on several numbers. Levine is a well- known teacher, composer and performer in the Orlando area. In addition to his private piano studio, he is also the music teacher at the Hebrew : Day School in Maitland and does extensive work in musi- cal theater there and at the JCC. One of the highlights of these musical performances is the free food. Lee Delnick. a former kosher caterer, will be ,providing Jewish apple cake, and Elise Schilowitz. an active member of the Friends of the Jewish Pavilion Board. will be providing Jewish snacks as well. The entire community is invited to the performance at Horizon Bay on Boston Avenue in Altamonte Springs. Although the programs are designed primarily for the residents of the facility, they appeal to people of all ages. They offer children and adults the opportunity to share in a musical experience with their elderly parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Multi-generational families have been a mainstay at these monthly performances. Pustay of Winter Park, Fla., died on Monday, I Dec. 22, 2008. She was 50 years old. I She was a student at the I University of Central Florida I doing post-graduate work in the history department. I Graveside services were I held on Dec. 23 at Congrega- I tion Ohev Shalom Cemetery conducted by Rabbi Aaron | Rubinger. I Services were entrusted I to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, Orlando. JACK A. ROSENBERG JackA. Rosenberg of Cassel- berry died on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008. He was 80 years old. Mr. Rosenberg was born in Jacksonville, Fla., on April 30, 1928. He was married to the former Claire Becker for 55 years. Together they owned the Jacqueline Dress Shops in Memphis, Tenn., where he was very active at Beth Shalom Synagogue. In 1985 the Rosenbergs moved to Orlando where they became members of the Congregation of Reform Judaism. Those close to him said Mr. Rosenberg was an avid golfer and swimmer who enjoyed daily trips to the ocean. He is survived by his wife, Claire; sons, Larry of Memphis and Jack III (Bonnie) of Mari- etta, Ga.; daughter, Deborah Rose nberg (David) Jackson of Longmont, Colo.; and four grandchildren. Donations in memory of Mr. Rosenberg may be made in his memo fo the Congrega- tion of Reform Judaism, 928 Malone Drive, Orlando, FL 32810. Memorial services were held on Dec. 3. 2008 at Congregation of Reform Judaism. Services were entrusted to Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, Orlando.
